A free training that focuses on building foundational advocacy skills so we can empower our children to lead rich, meaningful, and exciting lives.
Advocacy Bootcamp is a training intended for primary caregivers of young children (birth to age 10) with developmental disabilities, chronic illnesses, and/or complex medical needs. The content focuses on building foundational advocacy skills so that participants can empower their children to lead rich, meaningful, and exciting lives.
Advocacy Bootcamp is comprised of two parts. First, participants will gather for 4 in-person sessions that will allow them to get to know one another, identify their own strengths, and discuss how these strengths can be applied to advocating for our children. This will include navigating medical and therapeutic services, as well as the school system and identifying resources in local communities. Participants will be offered additional support of four (optional) phone calls throughout the following six months to support any goals they would like assistance completing.
