Supporting Friendship

Tuesday, September 27, 2016, 6-8pm

MCS
260 Westfield Rd
Holyoke MA

RSVP: Karen Fletcher 413-534-3299

Is your child lonely? Do they need friends so that they can learn how to be a friend? As parents, we can help our kids create friendships, but when your child has extra needs, it takes extra planning. In this interactive workshop, developed by and for parents of children with special needs, we will fill your friendship toolbox with concrete strategies and help you plan how to support your child’s friendships!

Together we will learn:

  • Why friendships are extra important to kids with special needs
  • Common barriers to friendship … and ways to get around them
  • Concrete strategies to help connect your child to others with similar interests
  • Tools that you can use to lay the groundwork for success for your child

This workshop is particularly geared towards parents of children aged 3-22, but many strategies apply to adults too.
